the MUSHROOM shop

DESIGN PROBLEM
There were many pre-existing problems with the design of Far West Fungi’s shop, which prompted the need for a renovation. The space plan was cramped with limited space due to their walk-in-refrigerator that was engulfing much of the store’s perimeters. Their product display case lacked the quality and luster to draw in shoppers excitingly into their store. While the design carried good potential, I felt it needed a new direction to help create more new sales.

DESIGN SOLUTION

My instant design concept was inspired by the show Boardwalk Empire. With this concept, Far West Fungi’s new design would harmonize beautifully with the feel of the Ferry Building in which it lives. I got rid of the walk-in-refrigerator and replaced it with built-in refrigerators that help just about as much as the walk-in unit did. This allowed for the central counters to be moved back, creating more traffic space for the clients to move about the store. All the existing built-in cabinets were replaced with new, quality cabinetry and take on a classic and clean appearance.
